Yuriy Dyachenko

Master of wood carving, Honored Artist of Ukraine.

Yury Alekseevich mastered the art of carving independently and for more than 20 years he has been working in a unique author's carving style. The master combines his skill with the work of a neurologist, to which he also belongs creatively.

Yuri was born in the Vinnitsa region, in the town of Gaisin. In 1971 he studied at the Vinnitsa Medical Institute. N.I. Pirogov. After graduation from 1977 he worked at the Gaisi Medical School as a teacher of neuropathology. Since 1980, for two years he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army as a doctor of the military unit. Since 1982, he works in the Gaisinsky District Hospital as a neurologist.

Carving master engaged in 1978 began with masks and voluminous work, gradually moved to flat-relief, high relief works. Hobbies in 1989 led to the People's University. N.K. Krupskaya city of Moscow, where he received his education at the correspondence department of the faculty of arts and crafts.

There are more than 600 works of the author. The most successful form the author's collection, which is more than 150 works. The artist began by copying the scenes of famous artists, from which he gradually moved on to the author's artists, who today occupy the main place in his work.

Thematically, the artist's work is divided into two thematic groups: religious ("Kazan Mother of God", "Guardian angel") and national (Taras Shevchenko, Hetmans of Ukraine, Panorama, Night on Ivan Kupala). "I'm trying to combine religiosity with Ukrainian folk themes, to provide artistic refinement, nationality to my works," the author notes.
