Еclecticism

Еclecticism (from the city of Eklektikos – “choosing”) in the design of interiors – a combination of different in style, origin, opposite in artistic meaning, “incompatible” elements of architectural decor, things, works of art.

Signs of style

The basis of the style is the aesthetic compatibility of different in sense and impression of things. This style – connects contrasting fragments and combinations, so the whole internal form of this house is built on contradictions, but its main advantage is convenience and comfort.

In eclecticism, modernity rests on the aesthetics of the past. So in the house there are examples of the most diverse painting from the paintings of ancient masters to the gifts of friends and even their own “works of painting”.

Modern upholstered furniture, for example, can be combined with an old chest that has survived several historical eras and even several attempts at restoration.

Gamma-style

In this style, modern styles are better combined with the styles of old masters of fine art. Therefore, you can safely stop your choice on still-life in the Dutch manner, Sergei Glushchuk and the works of avant-garde artist Alexander Melnikov, who works in the old technique of levkas painting, which gives his portraits and still lifes of unique sound. In the interior of the eclectic style there must necessarily be elements quite different in stylistics, the basis of eclecticism is diversity. Therefore, it is worth adding painting, for example, with embroidery or beading. The works of the national master Elena Shumilin – her embroidery are distinguished by the accuracy of the drawing, the brightness of the colors and the unique handwriting of the master.
